Recode’s Sam Biddle reports on a major investment by Google to help build a self-drive car for people to use in the United States.
Google is making an initial investment of $1.3 billion in the project, according to a press release from Google.
This is the largest investment by any technology company to date in the US for a self drive vehicle.
The company also said it will build self-parking infrastructure around the world.
Google has already announced plans to build an initial fleet of self-driven vehicles for people around the country, starting with California.
A spokesperson for the company declined to comment.
