A little over a year ago, Giovanni Trapatti was handed a five-year contract extension by the Bianconeri.

The move to Milan had been a surprise but the veteran Italian was convinced to stay and, after the transfer window closed, Trapattini said that he was ready to leave the Giallorossi.

“I’ve had the opportunity to talk with my agent and it seems to me that we have a good chance of winning this transfer window,” he said at the time.

It’s not about a contract extension, it’s a good time to start.””

I’m not ready to give up yet.

Trapatti, who turns 35 in May, was signed by the Milanese from Milan in 2013 for an undisclosed fee and has since helped the Rossoneri reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

The club have qualified for the Europa League group stages twice and were drawn against Dinamo Zagreb in the quarter-final round of the competition.
